La Bandera, a unique 16 hectare farm in their area located between 1700 and 2000 meters above sea level.

Diego Hidalgo is a member of the family, part of the third generation of coffee producers. He used to help his father during vacation, while he was in high school. Then he had to emigrate to the United States and returned several years later, specifically in 2013, dedicating his savings to coffee production.

This family was among the first members of the cooperative in their region. Now they have been exporting coffee for more than a decade and have been producing it for three generations.

However, positioning themselves in the market has been an enormous challenge. Despite adversities such as climate change, which has affected their recent harvests, they are gradually overcoming them with courage and hard work.

Thanks to an agronomist who advises them, part of the farm's production objectives is to always aim to add the maximum amount of minerals to the soil through organic matter, thus keeping the soils free from erosion.

With much effort and sacrifice, at La Bandera, coffee is the livelihood of the entire family. Their main varieties are red and yellow Catuai, but they also have others such as Geisha and Typica, which only processed with Natural and Honey methods.
