For 25 years, the Rodriguez family has been sourcing and exporting coffee from the Bolivian countryside. Recently, they made the decision to invest in creating their own farms to ensure a supply of high quality coffee and a future of sustainability. As of 2020, they have 12 farms: eight in Los Yungas in La Paz, and four in Samaipata in Santa Cruz, all of which adhere to quality standards set out by professional agronomists from around the world.
The ‘Fincas Los Rodriguez’ project not only acts as a constant source of coffee production, but also represents a real world example of local producers showing what can be achieved with good planning and modern farming techniques in Bolivia. To assist with this, Agricafe have started working with international experts to develop farm plans that allow every tree to grow healthily. They work with highly knowledgeable farm managers, maintaining each farm with a careful eye, being able to combat problems before they arise.
